Tips For Landing Page Design

Landing pages are those pages that prospective customers arrive on after clicking on a link or URL sent to them in a promotional email, or to which ad banners or pay per clicks ads are linked. These campaigns are used to generate interest about the product and most importantly, to get users to take action. Landing pages are often the place where visitors are converted to paying customers.

It is much easier to make a small landing page that is not a full website. This is much more effective because it shows the customer exactly what the want to see. Using a landing page is much more effective when it comes into bringing in sales. The fact of the matter is that landing pages are much easier to create and require significantly less time to create.

Do not give your potential customers too many options in the landing page. Let them do what you want them to do. A good approach is to limit your landing page to one primary action, inducing people make a purchase or to request information, especially when you are paying for traffic. If your landing page is not tightly focused on forcing people to take a particular action, they are likely to take no action, and your money will burn fast.

Give your visitor more details on what you are offering. This is to reinforce their decision about purchasing your product or service. Just be careful not to show too much information because this can potentially become a distraction for your visitors. Let them know what they should do when they arrive at your page. It should be made clear if they need to take another action to purchase or to sign-up. Define what call to action you want to achieve along every step in order for them to be led to a conversion.

Do you really need to know your visitor's company name in order to email a free download? If not, remove it from the form. But be careful not to go over board with this technique. If you've been in business for five years and all you have is a list of first names and email addresses, you've done something wrong along the way. Progressive information gathering is essential to the lead scoring process, so consider where your landing page fits into your marketing funnel before arbitrarily wiping out all your form fields.

Finally, your page should be clean, well designed and project a professional image. You are trying to build trust with your visitors and if your page looks like it was put together by an amateur people won't take it seriously. While you could hire a web designer to create landing pages for you or take the time to learn HTML and graphic design, there are other options to create stunning landing pages without needing to know a thing about HTML.

The landing page is an integral component of your email marketing message. The main email text describes the main highlights of your product or service. The landing page consolidates and further reinstates what you have written in the main email text. This is the reason why the landing page being action-inducing is best left to stand on its own as another separate customized page. Traffic will tend to be directed, and the possibility of increasing conversion rates will be higher.
